Supported HP devices

Smart Office Scan has device clients for the two technologies of HP: OXPd and Chai. The differences of these device clients are described at the bottom of this page. These device clients can be installed over the supported HP multifunctional devices. Not every client technology is supported by every HP device.

Installation of the device clients differs based on the architecture type of a device, which can be OZ or Jedi. The different installation steps are discussed in the Smart Office Scan Installation Guide.

The supported HP devices, their architecture type and supported client technologies are listed below. The meaning of some columns in the table below:

  • OXPd client: For the Smart Office Scan OXPd client the OXPd Workflow is a prerequisite. This is a framework developed by HP. This framework should be installed over the HP devices manually onto the devices with OZ architecture. The different HP devices are categorized into groups, because each group has a different OXPd Workflow. These OXPd Workflow packages are included in the Smart Office Scan application.
  • Chai client: The Chai client is only supported by devices with OZ architecture. The Smart Office Scan Chai client needs the Chai runtime as a prerequisite, which is a runtime developed by HP. The different HP devices are categorized into groups, because each group has a different Chai runtime. These Chai runtime packages are included in the Smart Office Scan application.
  • Minimum firmware version: The version number of the first release of the firmware, which has to be installed over the device to be able to use with Smart Office Scan. Of course newer firmware is also good.
