Smart Office Scan can be installed on every HP Multifunctional, which support CHAI and /or OXPd. These are the platforms that allows Smart Office Scan to create an interface on the HP Multifunctional as displayed on the website or in each brochure.

Limitations of the OXPd platform versus the Chai platform
There are important differences in the Smart Office Scan experience when comparing the Chai and OXPd platforms. Besides the differences in look and feel, appearance and navigation, there are some functional differences as described in the table below.
Chai platform - Browse option available on the multifunctional touch screen.
- String Validation option available in questions, entered value will be validated against data source.
- Hotbuttons are displayed with text only.
- The template list will be shown in tabs, so templates can be quickly selected.
- In a lookup list, tabs and filtering facilitate quickly selecting a value.
| | OXPd platform - Browsing is not possible, the full UNC path has to be entered and will be processed as String value.
- Validation is not possible, the value can be entered and will be processed as String value.
- Hotbuttons are displayed with pictures.
- The template list will be shown with a scroll bar next to it.
- No tabs in a lookup list. Limited search filter.
