Minimal system requirements

In order to make sure that Smart Office Scan can run on your HP multifunction printer, please keep in mind the following system requirements:

A PC or server is needed with a minimum of a Pentium 4 or faster CPU, at least 800 MB of free disk space, 1 GB available RAM (2 GB or more is recommended), and a single network adapter.

Smart Office Scan can be installed on the following platforms:

  • Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server (SP4 or later)
  • Windows Server 2003 with all critical operating system software updates installed
  • Windows XP Home or Professional (SP3 or later)
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows Server 2008

Smart Office Scan supports devices with the OXPd and Chai platforms.

The currently shipping version of SmartOfficeScan (v2.0.121.1208) supports installation on a 64-bit operating system but will run as a 32-bit application. (Note: SmartOfficeScan does not support the Windows 2008 64-bit O/S.) When installed on a 64-bit operating system running as a 32-bit application SmartOfficeScan does not support the following Connectors: Oracle Connector and ODBC Connector.
